{Kids Craft} Recycled Mixed Media Paint Project

Kids love paint no matter their age. This project is a super easy project that takes a few days to make. It is a mixed media art project which involved many different products and textures.

  • Day one involves just painting. You can purchase canvas for this or keep it cheep by painting over a canvas that is no longer needed, one from a garage sale or paint on old boards. Keep it cheep! Our theme was outdoors which also involved us painting outdoors. Have the kids paint grass, sky, flowers, bugs, etc.
  • Day two involves gathering up supplies for them to glue on to their painting. This can be anything you have around the house. We used stones, ribbons, small plastic bugs, rocks, sticks, etc.

Materials Needed:

  • Cardboard, wood or a canvas
  • Paint
  • Paint brushes and supplies
  • Mixed media supplies- stones, ribbons, small bugs, rocks, sticks, toothpicks, etc.

  • Hot glue gun
  • Ribbon of all sizes, shapes and themes
