Begin by placing a large sheet of parchment paper over work station. Then, cut 6 pieces of 5/8″ ribbon, 15 inches long in assorted colors. Heat seal ends.

Lay out one strip of ribbon on parchment paper and place ruler on edge leaving about an eighth of an inch exposed. Run a bead of fabric glue down the length of ribbon and place the second strip of ribbon over the edge.

Fold parchment paper over ribbons, smoothing out.

Repeat steps for each color until all ribbon strips are attached to one another. Set aside to dry.

Next, to make the faux crayons, cut six more strips of ribbon, 7″ long. Glue two ribbon strips together following the color progression of the ribbon previously glued together.

Trim ribbon ends by folding together and cutting at an angle from tip to form triangular shape. Heat seal edges. Then, cut an 18″ piece of bow wire and place in Mini Bowdabra, tucking ends under.

Place ribbon strips down into the Mini Bowdabra, following color progression. Scrunch down using the Mini Bowdabra Wand.

Next, gather the ends of the glued ribbon and place down into the Mini Bowdabra.

Then, squeeze the other end of the ribbon over the tower and down into the Mini Bowdabra.

Now, pinch the center of the ribbon down into the Mini Bowdabra, forming the loops on both sides. Scrunch down the bow using the wand.

While the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra, push the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop at the other end, pulling tightly.

Gently pull the bow out, separating the wires, around to the back, tying in a double knot. Cut off excess wire.

Finishing your hair bow

Add a 5″ finishing ribbon over bow wire by running a bead of glue and attaching ribbon over the wire. Decorate the ribbon strips to mimic crayons by gluing on decorative black trim strips and vinyl ovals.

A French barrette or alligator clip can be glued onto the center back for a cool hairstyle.
