Materials:

  • Wired Ribbon – 15 feet, 2.5″width
  • Glue Dots or Hot Glue
  • Bowdabra, Wand
  • Bow Wire
  • Ribbon – assorted 3/8″
  • Dowel Rods
  • Scissors
  • Clothespins
  • Baking Tray
  • Parchment Paper

Let’s start by wrapping strips of wired ribbon around the box in a cross-crossed pattern, as pictured, sealing ends with glue dots or hot glue onto the box.

Next, fold an 18″ piece of bow wire in half and place into the Bowdabra.   Then cut 15 feet of ribbon and fold in half finding the center crease. Then place the center crease ribbon down into the Bowdabra.  Fold over one side of ribbon three inches to make your first loop, making a crease in the ribbon and insert into the Bowdabra.

Next, fold the other side at the same width (3″), crease and insert into the Bowdabra.

Continue to fold the ribbon creating loops one at a time down through the center of the Bowdabra, alternating sides.

Fold as many loops into the Bowdabra .  .  . until reaching the end of the ribbon.  Then scrunch down with the Bowdabra Wand.

Making the Korker ribbon

Here’s how to make your very own korker bow ribbon:

  1. Begin by placing the ribbon on the end of a dowel rod at an angle.
  2. Secure with a clothespin. Wrap the ribbon around the dowel until reaching the end, cut off excess ribbon and secure with another clothespin.
  3. Continue wrapping the assorted ribbon around dowel rods and place on parchment lined baking tray. Bake at 250 Degrees for 20 minutes and remove from oven and let cool.
  4. Carefully remove the ribbon from rods by gently unwinding or sliding them off to see the korker ribbon pattern. Find the center of each korker ribbon and cut in half.

Then arrange the korker ribbon randomly down into the  Bowdabra on top of the wired ribbon loops .  .  .

and then scrunch down with the Bowdabra Wand.

While the bow and korkers are still in the Bowdabra, thread the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop at the other end, pulling the wire tightly.

Finish your bow

Gently pull it all out of the Bowdabra, separating the two loose ends and taking them around to the back, tying in a knot.  Cut off excess bow wire. Fluff loops and korker ribbon, securing this awesome looking bow on the top of the box with glue.
