Now we’re going to make this really cute New Year’s party favor that would be great for a New Year’s Eve table, or even at a wedding, or any birthday celebration.

So, we’re going to start. I’ve just put a few candies in here. So, you can just choose whatever candies work for your event. Then I like to make it look really pretty on top when they open it. So it’s almost like they’re double gift-wrapped.  And I just took a piece of Bowdabra Scrunchy Ribbon and put that inside. Next, we’ll close it up here and just set my little container to the side. So now, we’re going to make a really pretty ribbon flower to put on our box.

Make the ribbon flower

First, I’ve got my Bowdabra Bow Wire, which I folded it in half. And I’m just going to tuck the ends underneath so they stay out of the way. Now, I’ve already precut my petals, but I wanted to show you how I make them. So, on some of them, I’m actually going to dovetail. To dovetail, I’m going to cut from the corner in, and that’s going to give me my dovetail.

Then, for the petals, on some of them, I’m actually going to just curve, make a little circle here, and that’s how easy it is to make the petals. That’s all you’re going to use, it’s very important though, that you use a wired ribbon.

So, I’m going to take and put this one aside, and now I’m going to take my leaves. I’m just going to go to the center and scrunch those in. I take my other leaf and scrunch that in. And then now I’m just going to take my petals and put them in here. Now, these are ones I’ve dovetailed, but some of them are dovetailed and some of them are curved. So, we’re just going to put them in sporadically and interchange them.

Scrunch everything down

Next, I need my Bowdabra wand to just kind of scrunch everything down. And I’m going to continue on with all of my petals and scrunch them all in there. Finally, I’m going to take my wand, give it one last push. Now, I’ll take my Bowdabra Bow Wire and pull it through the slipknot. That is why I always fold my wire in half, for a slipknot.

I Pull it really tight and then take it out of the Bowdabra. I’m going to separate my ends, bring them around to the back, and I’m just going to tie a really quick knot here. I’m going to double-knot it. And then I’m just going to clip the ends because I’m going to put it on the package with my Liquisilk

Shape your flower

One of the tricks with wire is you can just push it up. Now, I’m going to just shape my petals around.

And then what I’m going to do is take my little gift box. I’m going to put some of the Liquisilk, (if you’re not familiar Liquisilk, it’s just a great product) and just put that on in the corner here. You can get it on your fingers and it doesn’t stick and it’s not going to burn you. It takes about 10 minutes to cure, but it will totally cure in 24 hours.  So just leave this on the box for 10 minutes,  and then you have this beautifully finished party favor.
