Super simple headband
“Hi, I’m Sandy Sandler, the creator of the Bowdabra Bow Maker. Today, we’re going to make a really super simple headband” This headband is perfect or any little girl. It’s great for spring, Mardi Gras, Cinco de Mayo, virtually anything you want a colorful bow for. So, let’s get started.
First, I’ve already precut my Bowdabra Bow Wire, and I’m just going to fold it in half and lay it into my Bowdabra and tuck the ends underneath.
Now, one of the cool things with Bowdabra is I’m just going to stick my headband right in the Bowdabra before I get started. I’m putting it in at a little bit of an angle. Then, I’m going to take my double-faced satin, and I’m going to just — it doesn’t matter, there’s really no wrong side or right side. So, I’m just going to make a loop, put this down in here.
Then, I’m going to take the center of the loop and scrunch that down. So, that’s going to be my back loop. Then I have this really fun colorful ribbon, and it’s the same on both sides also, so all I have to do is find the center. And I’m just going to scrunch this down in here. And I’m going to make a loop here. Then, I’m going to make another loop. Now it might be a little easier to do this in a Mini Bowdabra, but I like to show it in the big so that you realize you can make this in both the big or the Mini.
So, what I’ve done here is I made my X, and then I just scrunch that down into the Bowdabra. It’s really simple. And just to explain a little bit, what I did is I made a loop, and I made another loop, and they cross, and then I put the bottom loop in first, and the next loop. I had to finagle it a little bit because it is in the big Bowdabra versus the little.
Add more ribbon
So, this one, I’m going to just fold it back and forth, and just kind of throw that in there. And then, I have these great little pieces of tubular mesh, which just add so much color. And I’m just going to kind of alternate them and just put those in. I love the tubular mesh because it’s so much fun and really cute in a headband.
So now, I’m going to take my wand, scrunch everything down into my Bowdabra. And then, I’m going to take my Bowdabra Bow Wire and bring it up. I pull it through my slip knot, hold everything down while I pull it really, really tight.
To finish, pull it out of the Bowdabra. I’m going to separate my ends, bring it around to the back. And I’m going to just tie a knot, and double-knot it. And there you go. We have this adorable super simple headband.
